Today I went on a field trip with my rail design class. The driver of the train that we took to Uppsala was nice enough to let us slip in for a few minute and watch. Riding the faster trains here you get used to traveling at this speed but it a completely different experience from the front. I felt like I was in a bullet. It was amazing.
Anyways it is sad to think that in Sweden the regional trains travel faster than all but one train in the US. In fact Acela's top speed, which it only reaches twice, is the only time it travels faster than this train. If this train ran in the US it would be classified as a high speed train.
