Over the weekend I found a place to live literally right across the street from school. You have see an google street view like image (they have something similar by hitta.se) and map here. I'll be posting images in a bit. I'm located on a courtyard in the back of the building. The whole building is amazing and makes my 1930's building in Seattle new.
While I'm showing maps I want to show another one from an area of the city that I walked around yesterday. Karl, my advisor, said that I should visit Sickla Udde which is south of the central city. This area was formerly industrial but has been redeveloped into a model for green development. It was built around a new tram line that connects to the radial subway lines. It reminds me a lot of Amsterdam's Ijburg. Stockholm reads like a history book for urban planners. Its development patter is almost a perfect example of urban planning thought in the western world over the past few hundred years.
